Day 10

I took Charlie to school today, she wouldn't stop hugging me until I agreed to come! No one thought to get me a coffee from Timmy's though, I guess need to learn how to bark "double double" a little clearer.

Today I had three poops. That's just out there for the world to know. Is that unusual? The humans thought so. We'll see what tomorrow brings.

Walking Dead tonight...hope I don't have nightmares!

Day 9

I got up at 3am today, excited to take on the world! No one else was really into doing anything, so I guess I'll shelve my baking plans for the weekend.

Since I had Kristina up early, we walked to the lake to see the sunrise. Gorgeous!

Later, I walked to the lake again, as you can see here...
...and here...
...then I did a perimeter check on the chalet...
All clear, so we came inside and cooked up dinner. This frightful thing joined us...
...I sure hope they are not planning on dressing me up and taking me trick or treating this week!

Day 8

I am such a good sleeper they have to drag me out of bed to pee in the morning. But would you want to go out there in the wind and cold? The bay sounds like it might make its way to the door today.

I overheard them talking about me last night, phrases like "keep forever as our own" and "pretend she ran away" ... I gnawed on a rawhide while they schemed.

Today was pretty quiet overall - I slept, walked, hung out on the deck, chewed, ate, and helped the marketing department build a website in my spare time.

Oh, and Charlie tried on her new winter hat for me.

Day 7

The girls left early for a visit with someone named Leahbug...I spent the day doing yardwork with Matthew. We bonded, but were so busy he forgot to take photos. Here's what he looked like when he'd realized his grave mistake...

Day 6

Crazy windy, rainy morning, I barely wanted to drag myself out of bed. Charlie took me for a walk before gymnastics but declared it "too cold" - I was all too happy to go home to breakfast. The humans left for a while then returned with food and goodies in tow. We spent our first Saturday vacuuming my fur up, playing, and building bonfires.

Charlie also used my crate for naps...
Charlie and I were responsible for spotting Matthew on the roof for some autumn cleaning. He felt super confident because we were there!
Later, we had some fun surprise visits from Cathy and Beth, and Lorna and Cal.
Tonight on our walk the humans finally clued in to slow to my pace, which I liked much better. That, and all the puddle jumping Charlie and I did!

Day 5

Great sleep last night, save for the scare when uncle matthew tripped over me in the dark and fell on the bed. Guess he's not used to man's best friend protecting him from the evils of the world at nighttime just yet.

Today is an important day as I have chosen my official favourite from this family. And the winner is...
I mean really, she can cook, is full of love and hugs for me, walks at the right pace, and is hilarious. I really should have gotten to know her better over the years! We are making up for lost time now.

Speaking of which, she tried to take me on a long afternoon walk (I suspect she had downloaded some new podcast she wanted to listen to) but I had other plans. This cold weather is making my joints ache (maybe?) so after 10 minutes or so I stopped, sat down and gave her the look. She's slow, so it took a little more soulful staring before she turned around and headed us home. Where I promptly laid down to sleep. Then woke up for some wrestling!

When Charlie got home I had to do all sorts of things like listen to stories...
...dance crazy...
...and play classroom. What a day!

Day 4

Up early for some cartoon time - I am now an official member of Team UmiZoomi!
Another wet walk (will this cold rain ever end?!) then breakfast and seeing Charlie off to school. It's a lot of work to get kids dressed and ready to go and I had to lie down...
I need some encouragement to play with my toys, but once I get going, look out! This is me smiling for the camera whilst simultaneously squeaking my toy bone.
My new friends got a good shock later when they saw their pristine vehicle in the light of day! Hahahahaha...they murmured something about the cleaning bill being in the mail...
Anywho, another sleepy afternoon, interrupted by some stick throwing in the backyard until I tired of Uncle Matthew's game and waited at the door. When Charlie got home from school I wagged my tail and licked her face until she fell over, love that kid!

Quiet evening, showed Charlie and her dad how to build a block tower. Typically I would do something more complex but I didn't want to show off so early on.
As usual, they forgot the flash on the iPhone. Tried again with red eye adjustment, so much better don't you think?!
9pm and I'm ready to hit the sack. I could get used to story-time and lullabies!

Day 3

I felt comfortable enough to sleep in the humans' room last night, cozy but occasionally interrupted by the incredible snoring man. He was asked to leave mid-way through the night so I could get some sleep. Took a wet rainy walk this morning, partially off-leash during which I proved my amazingness! Back to the grind inside, save for some wrestling and snuggling.

Some hail, some rain, some sun...and then I got my first ride in the luxury Caravan!

After arriving in Orangeville, we toured the log cabin then frolicked in the leaves outside our hosts' home.
I exhausted myself with an endless game of stick-throw-catch-return, then settled in for a story.

While the humans ate, I bided my time in front of the wood stove. I never begged, but it is hard to resist my charm. The chicken was deelish.

The ride home took longer due to an unexpected snowstorm! I casually waited it out lying across the backseat. All in all, a good day. I am a little less sad today than yesterday, and hope you two are enjoying the warm sunshine.

Day 2

I had a good sleep, maybe a nightmare or two after watching some horrific show called The Walking Dead. Woke up at 6:30am, a little confused as to why I was still here, but happy none the less. A quick pee in the dark and Charlie woke up. She was super happy to see me, but kept trying to make me gnaw on a bone. We played castle and kitchen, then the mom took me for a long walk. Nice neighbourhood! Estate like homes! These guys must be very wealthy...

Back home to send Charlie off to school. First a quick pic goodbye!

Then I spent the morning like this:
Marketing agencies aren't really all they're cracked up to be - the humans spent the day typing, talking on the phone, and drinking coffee. I may or may not have gotten a little treat at lunchtime. My afternoon walk was long and sunny; so I was happy to lounge around until dinnertime. Afterwards we took a good walk to the water, where I ran into a local escapee, a chocolate lab named Hunter. He sniffed around and asked me out, but I rejected him - too young and eager. His owner finally showed up to rescue me; at last, I was able to enjoy munching on some delicious grass.

We headed home when it got dark, when the humans had the idea to take more pictures. The flash off...

...the flash on...
Seriously? Luckily they don't make a living taking photos!

Day 1

I was a little concerned after you two left, paced the chalet and waited by the window for you to return. After two little walks with the human man and lots of love I calmed down but did find it weird that the humans just sit at the kitchen table looking at computers all afternoon.

Around 5pm Maya showed up and promptly stole my bone. I was cool with it for about 1/2 hour until she abandoned the bone. When I ambled by to retrieve it, she perked up and we had a quick tussle until Richard broke it up. Hoping I don't see that bone stealer for a while.

The little one they call Charlie fed me dinner then I waited super patiently for the parents to cook dinner. Of course, they could not resist 'adorable' so I lucked out with a couple nibbles of steak. Afterwards, we went for a good walk to the big lake, and they marveled at how calm and wonderful a companion I am.

The various neighbourhood dogs are pesky but harmless; I did some butt sniffing and was on my way. Delila lives next door, guess I'll be seeing her around quite a bit.

Back at the chalet we bathed the little one, then read some bedtime stories. Still not sure where you guys are, but I guess I'm okay with being here...
