Day 24
I frightened Kristina this morning, she wondered why I wasn't sleeping upstairs, found me on my bed downstairs but I wasn't moving. She pet me and nothing, felt for breathing...geez, I was just sleeping! These people wake up too early and I am so tired from my incredible adventures in Collingwood. But! It has been an amazing adventure, that's for sure. And I'll miss these guys.
For my last night, Charlie treated me to a restaurant meal with Dora, complete with nine-tiered wooden cake. She said it was a party, and boy did I have fun (note photos do not show my super fun party face).
And that is that. My adventures are over, my mom and dad are coming tomorrow. See ya later family Smoss! It's been a blast. xo

Day 23
A view from the chalet this morning...snow snow and more snow! Guessing Cali isn't like this at all. I LOVE the snow!
Got Charlie all decked up in snow boots and a new coat then ran to the lawn to roll around and kick up some white stuff. Maybe this is my favourite time of year?
I know for sure I DO love belly rubs from my fave little person. Here's how I roll:

First, I lie down and await the rub. She is new to this, so sometimes nothing happens. In that case, I...
...ask politely, using my paws...
...succeed in getting a belly rub, though it's a little more erratic in pressure than I'd like...
...nuzzle her face with my wet nose to show my gratitude.

Day 22
So today it rained and snowed and hailed. The human parents had to venture out to Eugenia to get Charlie, I was worried they wouldn't make it back over the mountain without snow tires. (Note they did not take me - or actually tell me where they were going - because they felt it would cause too much joy in my heart to think I was going home at last, and too much pain when I realized I wasn't).
Turns out Hwy 19 was closed and all was dicey for a bit! But they made it home at last, so I could finally relax and chew on a rawhide...which, incidentally, I only do when all the humans are home and safe.

Day 21
This is how I felt when Charlie said "Good morning Jesse! You are such a good girl!"
A windy Sunday, we played kitchen, had a tea party with Dora, and organized the basement - very exciting! I am not afraid of vacuums at all, which the humans found very peculiar. Kristina even had to ask me to move off the hose. I guess it just reminds me of all the housework I do at home...
Matt and I took a break from cleaning for a walk to the bay, needed to scope out the rough seas and ensure the safety of the neighbours. It didn't seem too bad...
...but I stood there a little longer to be sure...

Day 20
Mmmmm...the weekend. Still up early though, something about gymnastics? Charlie helped feed me, then got her breakfast started...I'm not sure if this is unusual or not.
I helped Matthew hang Christmas lights today, which was not without blood, sweat and a few tears (his), and later Cal and Lorna stopped by (unbelievably the cookie-lady did not bring me cookies! she so owes me next time I'm at her house).
Matthew took me for a long walk to the Jeep dealership - he sure likes going there for some reason. I imagine THIS is what he thinks about while we're walking:

Day 19
OMG Starbucks' peppermint and gingerbread lattes are back! So excited. They smell amazing...I can't wait for Christmas!
In other news, Kristina picked me up some sweet new chew sticks. All natural (or so the bag claims). Delicious! Watch me eat it in three simple steps.
Step 1: position chewy thing
Step 2: smile
Step 3: go to town!

Day 18
The humans are careful not to spoil me, but they do give me treats here and there. I love to hang out in the kitchen when they're cooking; they can't resist my hazel eyes (and loud sighing). Some of favourites are above. (Kristina could totally be a famous food blogger and/or photograph for cookbooks, non?)
I never beg at the table at mealtimes, but that cute kid drops soooo much food I help out the family by cleaning the floor afterwards. Par example? Rice Krispies. Delicious! See how I fake disinterest in the background?
Today in summary: walk, poop, eat, sleep, harass small neighbourhood dogs (named Ruby, no less), wrestle, walk, poop, harass, eat, wrestle, walk, poop....and then, I must admit, I have become fond of bedtime stories. I curl up in Charlie's room under guise of "protective watchdog" then enjoy a plethora of Dr. Seuss classics...ahh heaven.
Oh, and also today Charlie told me I am "going home soon", and that she will "miss me, but not that much," and that she will visit when she goes "swimming." She pointed a finger at me the whole time then hugged my butt so I'm not really sure what this all means.

Day 17
Today was all about...wrestling! Kristina left early for the big smoke, so it was just Matthew and I to get Charlie ready for school, walk, walk, walk, and wrestle. I had tons of energy but it was raining, so mostly we wrestled inside; when Kristina got home she marveled at all my gorgeous fur decorating the floors!
After dinner, I took Charlie and Matthew to the lake for a starry stroll. Then we did more wrestling!

(These iPhones really take great indoor photos. Check out my eyes!)
Day 16
Warm outside, but I hobbled quite a bit today, and had trouble with the stairs. (Kristina does the same after some wine though, maybe she has also injured her cruciate ligament?)
A quiet Tuesday, I helped Matthew plant a tree...
...and I wrestled with my squirrel-bear-chew-thingy...
...and I got lots of love - of course I know they can't resist this face!
Charlie and I watched something called Bubble Guppies, I just loved it.

Day 15
His owner seems nice enough though, suggested we might "become friends one day." Ha! (Note this is not an actual photo of Murphy - he is a much bigger and not-at-all adorable meathead)

Day 14
Another day in paradise with these kids, who love showing me off around the neighborhood. Here we are embarking on an adventure next door, the neighbours wanted to see Charlie in her costume, and I thought I'd pay a visit to wee Delila.
First we snapped a photo...
Manny is a a farmer (carrying eggs), Charlie is a doctor, Henry is a rapper (self-explanatory). I forgot to look at the camera so we took another...
Then they watched me pee...
The humans left for a few hours in the afternoon, they suspect I watched movies and read the paper while they were gone.

Day 13
What a day! Up early, kids everywhere, walk, walk, walk. They can't keep their hands off me! (Editors note: There are no photos of this because Kristina can't do everything at once you know people!)
I did manage to snap this one of the littlest person...
And here I am enjoying my fabulous, flavourful bone treat...
Clocks fall back tonight, hoping to get a few more zzzzzzzzzzzz because all this love is completely exhausting.

Day 12
Finally...baking! And a wind warning, so a good time to stay inside. We
made pumpkins and ghosts for Charlie's daycare party part two.
(Editors note: the wine glass in the photo above is from the PREVIOUS evening. Swear.)
Things got hairy here this afternoon, winds picked up, I got scared. They put blankets over my crate just in case.
To my relief, everything calmed down, and I spent the day walking the 'hood and lounging around (like so, in case some of you forget what this looks like)
To cap the day off, I took a ride in an incredible vintage Jeep, then allowed two more kids to love me to bits all night.

Day 11
Happy Halloween! Soggy morning but oh so warm, we thought the chalet the looked great in the rain...
...I looked pretty good too!
I hung out with Bo for a bit...
...then headed back to help Charlie into her costume! I am not sure what is happening in this photo...
....but here we are together! She tried to leave without her rain coat, silly (doctor) girl.
